Henry’s Story

Member of the Klamath Tribes  |  Klamath, Modoc, and Yahooskin

Henry Rondeau, a member of the Klamath Tribes, plays a crucial role in his community as an administrative receptionist. His job isn’t just about answering phones; it’s about being the first point of contact, offering a warm and welcoming presence to everyone who steps into the administration building. But his work goes beyond the front desk. Henry is deeply involved in cultural preservation, helping to organize events, singing traditional songs, and ensuring that Klamath traditions are passed down to the next generation.

Henry’s journey has been one of resilience and positive change. Growing up in a world that often focused on negativity, he made it his mission to spread good energy and positivity, especially among the younger members of his community. He’s a strong advocate for cultural practices as a form of prevention against the challenges many face, like substance abuse. Through music, language, and traditional practices, Henry works to keep his culture alive while also bridging the gap between the past and present for his community.

He believes in the power of love and community, often reminding others to be kind and supportive. His work is driven by a deep love for his people, and he encourages young people, especially those from tribal communities, to learn their language and stay connected to their roots. For Henry, community means love, family, friendship, and culture, and he lives each day striving to make his community stronger and more united.
